Conclusion

     Through the rise of technology we have gained a multitude of knowledge and connections, but we have lost generations worth of in-person conversations. There have been genuine concerns looking at this generation and towards future generations regarding the disconnect occurring between families. Social media is deemed by some researchers to be a barrier keeping children further away from their families as they delve further into their computer screens (O’Keeffe 41-42). We are becoming a society driven by social media interactions, and this comes with many positive and negative effects. However, through generation Z, it is evident that we are losing the ability to fully connect in in-person interactions as a society.
