This source focuses in the negative impact that social media has had the youth. It specifically pertains to the power that social media holds to make teens feel disconnected from the world around them. The piece explores the connection that social media has to depression and suicide rates increasing in the youth within recent decades. This piece highlights my research topic’s connection to teens distancing themselves from society due to social media.

This article adds a somewhat opposing view to my research through highlighting the positive powers that social media holds to make a difference in our world. However, the article also discusses the dangers that come along with this access to the world. This academic article offers a different perspective and depth to my research question.

This source focuses on the potential beneficial and harmful factors that come along with the presence of social media within the lives of today’s youth. The article covers topics such as self-image issues and depression in regard to social media’s negative impact on today’s youth. The piece highlights aspects of social media that might lead teens to be more disconnected from society, and uninterested in in-person interactions. For this reason, it is relevant to my research question.

The article explores the addictive behaviors that are attached to social media. This piece comes from an academic journal which makes it a credible source. It is relevant to my research question because it delves into how social media and technology run a big part of human life within recent years.

This piece is relevant to my research because it discusses the disconnect that has come along with the rise of social media in our lives.

This piece discusses the dangers that come along with the extreme exposure to social media in children’s lives. Social media has the power to create a more ideal world for children since through social media they are able to lie about their age and engage in imaginative worlds. This kind of dependency on social media being instilled at such a young age holds the power to disconnect children from their families and can sometimes be dangerous to the safety of children.

The piece delves into the multiple aspect of human life that have been affected by social media in recent decades. The academic journal focuses on how social media has had both positive and negative effects on recent generations and the way in which they live their lives as individuals and as a society. This source relates to my topic because it focuses on the impact that social media and technology have had on younger generations and the way that they interact with the society around them which is the central topic of my research.

The piece delves into the effects that the media has on molding and developing the youth’s brain. This academic journal study also highlights the below average participation that the youth has in advocating for political issues in in-person interactions when being compared to their participation online. Overall, the piece relates to my research topic because it focuses on the increase of human presence online in comparison to human presence in everyday interactions, and also talks about the impact social media has had on younger generations and the way that they think.

However, it also discusses how Facebook has been able to keep families together and connected to one another. This piece is relevant to my research because it offers both sides of the argument that I am making.
